LTA Level 1 - £220 (including VAT)

If you are aged 16 or over, this course is an excellent starting point for people who want to get involved in tennis. UCoach is looking for tennis enthusiasts who want to assist a qualified coach deliver mini tennis. The course includes tuition with LTA qualified tutors, over two modules, with additional coaching experience taking place at your club.

The main objective of the course is to learn how to assist an LTA licensed coach with groups of mini tennis players.

  • Assist a qualified coach in the delivery of Mini Tennis
  • Motivate and inspire mini tennis players
  • Use effective verbal and non verbal communication skills
  • Assist in the organisation of safe and constructive mini tennis activities and competition
  • Have a full understanding of the structure of Mini Tennis and competition

Exemptions

  • If you hold a UKCC endorsed, 1st4sport awarded Level 2 in another sport you can bypass Level 1 and take level 2.
  • If you hold a teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) specialising in P.E. then you can bypass Level 1 and take Level 2

Before the Level 1 course, candidates must have a signed letter of deployment from the club where coaching experience will be undertaken or request a letter of deployment from the course provider. After completing the Level 1 course, you will need to have a DBS (formerly known as a CRB Enhanced Disclosure) if you wish to become registered.

For any candidates keen to progress to their Level 2 qualification after completing their Level 1 please note the strict pre-requisites required before booking on, so if you are looking to further your coaching career it is worth looking into this in readiness for the Level 2!

• Be LTA Registered or have a DBS (Formerly known as CRB Enhanced Disclosure) through the LTA less than 12 months old before the start of the course. Applications can be made online at www.lta.org.uk/dbs
